Sarah Jane Wilson
Sarah Jane Wilson is the Co-founder of the initiative Cities4Forests, a network of cities committed to improving forests in and out of their boundaries. As an expert in tropical forest ecology and rural livelihoods, Sarah brings pressing global environmental and social issues to the attention of cities with cultural and innovative power. She aims to make these cities develop solutions to protect the environments and communities that support them.
Sarah is especially excited about the potential to bring people from the city to the forest ecosystems – virtually and in person – on which they depend via shared water, air and climate. Her main passion is to help cities make robust, proactive decisions regarding forests. As a researcher, Sarah is also passionate about understanding tropical forest recovery and developing strategies to restore forests that work for both people and nature.
