Marloes Gout works as a Sustainability Consultant at the Municipality of Rotterdam. She’s part of the Rotterdam Rooftop team and gives stakeholders integral advice on how to create and attain the most value on their rooftops. At the time of writing, Rotterdam counts 579.000m2 multifunctional roofs, of which 360.000m2 are green roofs and 168.000m2 are ‘yellow’ roofs; roofs covered with solar panels.
She looks forward to the build of the multifunctional roofs in the LIFE@Urban Roofs project and sees her main task as a civil servant to help see the importance of green. By combining different functions on roofs, unused black spaces are transformed into multifunctional valuable spaces which create a livable urban environment.
