Karianne de Bruin

Karianne de Bruin is an environmental economist at Wageningen Environmental Research, specializing in the economic evaluation of adaptation responses to climate change. She combines new approaches to decision-making under uncertain climate, which support adaptation planning, with identifying and assessing the business case for innovative green solutions for climate resilient cities.

Together with Norwegian partners in the research project NEW WATER WAYS, she evaluates urban water-sensitive solutions relevant for Nordic cities, explores business opportunities with possible public and private financing practices, and provides a Dutch perspective on the transition towards more water-smart cities.
