Gørild Heggelund is Senior Research Fellow at the Fridtjof Nansen Institute in Oslo. She has researched China’s environmental, energy and climate change policy for three decades. During her time as Senior Climate Change Advisor at UNDP China (2009-2014), she was an international expert in the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED).
Her current research concerns China’s potential leadership role in energy and climate post-Paris; China’s development of ETS as a GHG mitigating policy tool, and the role of cities in addressing climate change in China. Gørild is very excited about the current research project which is focusing on cities in China implementing the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.
