Albina Ruiz-Ríos is the Vice-Ministre of Environment at the Government of Peru and Founder of Ciudad Saludable. For more than 30 years she has been devotedly working on initiative and projects transforming garbage challenges into powerful opportunities. Albina recognized the value of reusable and recyclable solid waste and how waste pickers create their own job by collecting the waste of others.
Albina is leading Peru towards a “Peru Limpio” (Clean Peru.) She is with her whole heart committed to her work and really drives change in her city and country. Today there are no more garbage piles in the city and the citizen are aware of recycling.
